THE ADVENTURE ABROAD BEGINS (AND ENDS)
When we left Australia on March 1, toilet paper was aplenty on supermarket shelves, New York had only just confirmed its first case of Covid-19 and the humble handshake was not yet taboo. We were terrified, but not because of a virus. We'd rolled the dice, trading our dream house, careers and familiar lifestyle for an uncharted, open-ended escapade around the globe, our three-year-old and four-year-old daughters in tow.

WHY TRAVEL?
It all started with a wild thought. A question. What if we could leave normal life behind, sell our belongings and go on a global adventure with our children? What if we could step outside convention, be more present with our girls and just live life to its fullest.

PREPARING FOR TAKE OFF
Our transition into full-time wanderers didn't just happen at the drop of a hat. We spent many months and moon-lit hours getting all our ducks in a row. The ignition spark for our travels came while we lived in a partially refurbished house, situated on a sprawling two-acre property on the Gold Coast. The sale of this house was the linchpin of our ambitious plan, which meant the completion of a sizable renovation. So, we penciled in an auction date and embarked on a round-the-clock renovation marathon.
